With Middlebury’s dedication to Vermont’s growth, the MiddWorks for Vermont Summer Internship Program is a testament to the institution’s investment in shaping a brighter future for the state and for Middlebury students. The program, funded by Middlebury College Center for Careers and Internships (CCI), focuses on advancing various aspects crucial to Vermont’s development, including fostering a robust Vermont economy and skilled workforce, a just Vermont society, a healthy Vermont population, a “green” Vermont environment, equitable access to excellence in education, and a vibrant Vermont arts and cultural scene.

Program Details:

  • Carefully Curated Internships: Each internship is selected by CCI to ensure a mutually enriching experience for both the student and the organization.
  • Wide-Ranging Opportunities: From hospitality to government affairs, economic research to communications, students have the chance to explore diverse sectors.
  • Financial Support: Interns receive a $4,000 summer funding award and priority acceptance to MiddCORE’s Summer Intern Lab, further enhancing their professional development.
  • In-Person or Hybrid: Internships are designed to be in-person or hybrid, ensuring an immersive Vermont experience. Housing options are available in Middlebury and Burlington.
  • Comprehensive Training: Students participate in pre-departure training sessions specific to Vermont, along with mid-summer and fall debriefs.
  • Program Dates: June 10 – August 2, 2024, with interns expected to work a minimum of 30 hours per week for a total of 240 hours.
