    The Joy of Dance: Expanding Presence and Connection

    Join Meshi Chavez for a dynamic, hour-long movement class that combines the joy of a dance party with the power of mindful exploration. This session is open to both dancers and non-dancers and offers a blend of free movement and guided instruction. You will explore your body’s natural rhythms through improvisational exercises and connect with others and the space around you.

    Preparation:
    - Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
    - Bring layers to adjust for temperature changes.
    - Bare feet are preferred; soft-soled indoor shoes are acceptable.

  • Mountain Club Pumpkin Tumble

    Join Mountain Club for an exhilarating afternoon of snacks and painting pumpkins at the Battell Beach hill, and then compete in our annual pumpkin rolling contest! If your pumpkin makes it the farthest down the hill, you win the largest pumpkin!

    We will be reading Homer’s The Odyssey, if you are interested in participating (we’re using an English translation, no prior knowledge of the text or Latin is necessary) please contact Trish Dougherty. If you’d like to just stop by and listen for a while everyone is welcome.

  • Middlebury College Carillon Series: Dr. Andrea McCrady, Dominion Carillonneur, Canada

    As part of the Carillon Series’ Fall Festival, and in conjunction with Fall Family Weekend, Dr. Andrea McCrady will perform a beautiful concert from Middlebury Chapel’s bell tower. The melodic sounds of the carillon bells will ring out across the campus. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket! Free and open to the public.

    Sophie Shao and Friends

    Perennial favorite cellist Sophie Shao returns to open our 105th season with an accomplished, all-female ensemble, performing a stunning program of sonatas and piano trios. Violinist Jennifer Frautschi and pianist Christina Dahl join Shao in an evening featuring Nadia Boulanger’s Three Pieces for Cello and Piano, Peteris Vasks’ Castillo Interior (The Interior Castle), Marguerite Canal’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, and Franz Schubert’s beloved Piano Trio No. 1 in B-flat Major, D.898.
