Share to Wear

Two Middlebury College students, Linley Shaw ’17 and Charlotte Reider-Smith ’19, launched Share to Wear in 2016 as part of a MiddCORE entrepreneur project. Their idea: offer women on campus the opportunity to rent out the high-end dresses that were sitting in their closets to fellow students for short-term use.

Today, that business is thriving at Middlebury and growing beyond campus. The Share to Wear team spent the summer of 2018 collaborating with the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies to hone their business model.

Rachael Salerno ’19.5 describes the journey: “We found this massive support system in Middlebury, and even in Burlington now, to grow this as far as we can. The passion and the belief behind what we’re doing, and who we are, and that we’re capable of doing it has been a pleasant surprise.”
