Academic Partnerships and Collaborations

The Office of the Provost promotes and supports academic collaborations and partnerships across Middlebury’s programs.  Amy McGill, serving as the associate provost for integration strategies, reports to the provost and works as a bridge-builder across Middlebury programs, identifying and pursuing opportunities for collaboration.

Amy McGill works at the provost’s discretion with administrators and faculty of Middlebury College, the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, the Language Schools, Schools Abroad, the Bread Loaf School of English, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and the School of the Environment to explore and develop initiatives that align with Middlebury’s mission and strategic directions and that involve the participation of two or more academic programs. Her work includes:

  • Collaboration with colleagues at Middlebury locations to ensure the success of joint initiatives and projects
  • Collaboration with the associate provost for digital learning to develop opportunities for programmatic integration in the digital realm
  • Oversight of Middlebury in DC, a common space where all Middlebury programs can participate in developing initiatives that use the resources of the nation’s capital to create opportunities for faculty research, student learning, and alumni engagement
