Weather Information - Tornado Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Addison and surroundings counties, until 10 p.m.  This afternoon and evening, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop.  Some thunderstorms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain.

Weather watches  - A watch means conditions are right for dangerous weather. In other words, a "watch" means watch out for what the weather could do, be ready to act.

This may turn into a Warning.   A warning means that the dangerous weather is threatening the area. For severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flash floods, a warning means the event is occurring.

For updates, go to www.weather.gov   and click on Vermont on the map.  There will be updates on the forecast and the movement of the storm.

Community Update on Reported Fondling

Students, Faculty and Staff,

As I wrote to you Tuesday morning, we received a report on Monday evening, October 17, 2016, that a guest of a Middlebury student fondled another student in a residence hall while claiming to be conducting a research experiment.  The Middlebury Police Department (MPD) responded to investigate and Public Safety issued the individual a trespass notice.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, the MPD arrested the individual, Nam Vu Bui, of Houston, Texas, on charges of Sexual Assault and Voyeurism.  His arraignment took place today, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, and he is now being held without bail pending a weight of the evidence hearing at a future date.

Middlebury College takes these charges very seriously and is cooperating with the Middlebury Police.  Our priority is ensuring the safety of our campus and providing resources and support for the members of our community.

Below is a photograph of Nam Vu Bui.  Anyone with information about him is asked to contact the Middlebury Police Department or Public Safety.
