MiddMedia is a audio/video storage and streaming service hosted by the college. It is developed and supported by LIS with the goal of providing high quality video streaming for both academic and administrative needs.
MiddMedia is not a video browsing and search service. To share a video with others you must embed it in a website visible to your intended audience. This website might be a WordPress or Moodle site, a MediaWiki wiki, or another site on campus or elsewhere on the internet.
The advantage of MiddMedia over public systems such as YouTube is that longer and better-quality videos can be delivered from MiddMedia.
- Go to http://middmedia.middlebury.edu/ and log in via the link in the top right.
- Click the Upload Files button to upload audio or video in one of the supported types.
- Once you have uploaded a file you can preview it by clicking on its thumbnail.
- Click on the Embed Code and URLs link to get a block of HTML code that you can paste into other web sites. Alternatively, WordPress has built-in media-library screens that allow you to insert MiddMedia videos directly into your sites.
