MiddVote is a nonpartisan student initiative at the Center for Community Engagement that seeks to mobilize students on campus to be active participants in our democracy. Especially during election years, our primary focus is registering students to vote and making voting easier, whether that means providing transportation to the polls in town or requesting an absentee ballot. We also host and sponsor events on campus that provide spaces for students to have productive discussions about civic engagement. Additionally, we help students engage with Vermont politics by providing opportunities to attend off-campus events like the PBS Gubernatorial Debate.

Following the 2016 election, we are currently updating our voter registration/absentee ballot request system. In the meantime, we recommend checking out Rock the Vote if you have any questions about voting. We continue to support students in registering to vote and voting absentee on campus in advance of upcoming local and midterm elections.

If you are interested in getting involved in or have any questions about MiddVote, feel free to contact Associate Director of the Center for Community Engagement Ashley Laux at alaux@middlebury.edu.
