Individual Counseling

Counseling offers short-term individual therapy to support the mental health of students.  Please make an appointment if you are interested in individual counseling.

Groups and Programs

Group counseling offers the opportunity for students to get together (sometimes virtually) around a variety of topics to gain new insights and skills under the guidance of one of our counselors. Our group offerings vary by semester and student need.

Let’s Talk

Let’s Talk offers students easy access to informal and confidential 25-minute 1:1 consultations with a counselor. Drop-in hours take place weekly on a first come, first served basis Tuesday-Friday afternoons at different campus locations. Come by to add your name to the list. Visit the Let’s Talk page to learn more and see frequently asked questions.

Referrals to Local Providers

If you are interested in establishing a counseling relationship with a clinician off campus, we can share information about options. Students are always welcome to check our most recent list of local providers who have expressed openness to taking students as clients. This is a great option for those looking for long-term care during their time at Middlebury.

Consultation

We strive to serve the consultation needs of the entire Middlebury College community. We are available to students, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, family, and friends to provide advice and action steps around mental health concerns and needs.

Advocacy

We firmly believe in our role as advocates. We can help students find resources on campus and connect with other offices, and we will support their requests for accommodations or other services. We believe that advocacy is fundamental to counseling and integrate it into all of our therapeutic relationships as appropriate.
