Welcome, community members and organization representatives!
Civic Engagement programs connect Middlebury College students, staff, and faculty with community-connected teaching, learning, research, and service opportunities. You play an important role in these efforts. We value our community partnerships as mutually beneficial relationships designed to support community-identified needs while educating Middlebury College students in and out of the classroom.
Community-connected learning incorporates real-world experiences to deepen student learning while also fostering civic responsibility in the tradition of a liberal arts education. We can help our community partners work with specific classes or design course materials and activities that benefit the community—and that provide greater depth to students' exploration of the nonprofit arena, and of themselves as citizens and future leaders.
If you are interested in making academic connections with your organization, please contact Tiffany Nourse Sargent, Director, Community Engagement, 802.443.5082.
We support 16 student service organizations, plan one-time events to meet community needs, and invite community partners to programs on campus, such as our annual MiddAction Fair. Please be in touch if you have a need for Middlebury volunteers or see other ways in which you would like to connect to Middlebury College students.
