MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — With “Super Tuesday” just around the corner, Professors Matt Dickinson and Bert Johnson say that the Republican primary race continues to upend all expectations, with Donald Trump now building on his early lead. Like many other political observers who doubted Trump’s chances for the nomination, they are now left wondering how Trump continues to defy conventional wisdom on what appears to be the path to the nomination.

In their latest installment, the Professor Pundits question the theory of “The Party Decides” and discuss the stakes for candidates from both sides on Super Tuesday. Dickinson, who spent several days in South Carolina leading up that state’s important Republican primary vote, shares some of his experiences on the campaign trail.

Dickinson writes the blog Presidential Power and is frequently quoted in the national news media. He often live tweets political events at @MattDickinson44. Johnson, also a regular in the national media, tweets at @bnjohns.
