MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The telephone system replacement project is continuing full steam ahead. As of the end of December, more than half of the office telephones on the Middlebury campus have been moved to the new Cisco telephone system.

According to Middlebury Information Technology Services, most faculty and staff have opted for a desk telephone but some have chosen to use a headset to place and receive calls from their office computers. Faculty and staff are enjoying the features of the Jabber software and we expect more people will choose to go without a desk telephone. The Jabber soft phone client is available for download to all users.
