How did you get to Middlebury? A collision of interests. My wife and I were looking to retire in a small college town at the same time the college was looking for someone to help dramatically improve employment outcomes for students. Well, the second interest is coming true anyway.

Who do you work with? What is your favorite part of the job? In my role, I work predominantly with alumni and parents to produce career exploration and development programming for students, as well as, with employers to build enduring employment pipelines of opportunity. Additionally, I advise students interested in careers in technology in how best to prepare to secure their preferred futures. My favorite part of this role is speaking with a variety of professionals about their career roles, engaging them in CCI programming, and then witnessing the magic that is the Middlebury Professional Network in helping students reach their goals for life after college.

What is the best career advice anyone has given you? Work hard and learn from all of your experiences, the good ones, as well as, the bad ones. Intellectual curiosity, perseverance, endurance, team player, and resiliency are wonderful ingredients for success.

What is your favorite campus resource? In my role, I spend a large majority of my time not on campus but in cities. My favorite “resource” when I am on campus is the visual restorative power of the Adirondack Mountains in the distance.

Interests/Hobbies: I am intrigued about visualizing the future by understanding current trends, dynamics, and data. I spend quite a bit of my free time watching the EPL, reliving my coaching and former player days.
