Hi everyone! My name is Nick and I use they/them and he/him pronouns and identify as a queer white person. I grew up in rural Rutland County, Vermont; have lived in Saratoga Springs New York, Seattle Washington and Montreal Quebec.  I currently live in the big city of Burlington Vermont.

I have been working as a social worker with a diversity of people in a variety of settings since 2001. Since receiving my master’s degree in Social Work in 2006 from McGill University in Montreal, I have practiced in community mental health, hospice care, and peer to peer support environments while working with people experiencing homelessness, coming out of incarceration, at end of life, as well as with people experiencing mental health crisis and suicidality.

I bring a compassionate, trauma sensitive, strengths-based, person-centered perspective and am informed by the Intentional Peer Support approach, Buddhist psychology, as well as feminist, anti-oppressive, and dialogical theories.

Things that currently bring me joy include fermenting stuff, baking for friends, poetry, making music, connecting with the more-than-human world, and wandering around the planet with my partner.
