We allow students to directly connect theory to reality with hands-on practice. 

We also coach and support faculty to incorporate community-connected pedagogies into their teaching and research.

Community-Connected Learning Course

A CCE staff-taught course in which students apply relevant coursework to place-based contexts by collaborating with community partners independently or in groups to complete a community-connected learning project that contributes to the public good.

Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster

The Privilege & Poverty Academic Cluster integrates coursework with experiential learning to critically examine the causes and consequences of economic inequality.

Half-Credit Experiential Gateway and Capstone Courses

The CCE offers half-credit Gateway and Capstone classes for students embarking on experiential learning opportunities such as Alternative Break Trips (MAlt) and Privilege & Poverty summer internships.

Academic Outreach Endowment Grants

We provide funds for faculty and students pursuing community connected research, teaching, and learning projects.
