College Will Hold In-Person Commencement for Class of 2020 and 2020.5
| by Laurie Patton and Jeff Cason
President Laurie Patton and Provost Jeff Cason sent the following message on Thursday, July 8.
Dear Classes of 2020 and 2020.5,
You were the first whose lives were so painfully disrupted at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak. You have been patient with us as we turned all our attention to the work of remaining a vibrant community during a pandemic year of 2020-2021. For your fortitude, we thank you.
As we emerge, 15 months later, with vaccination rates in Vermont leading the country and a successful year of in-person learning at Middlebury behind us, we write today with happy news.
As promised, we will be celebrating your accomplishments with an in-person graduation on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. We will be inviting you and your families back to campus to receive your degrees, to exchange updates and memories, and simply be together once again. The celebration will be after the graduation of the Class of 2022, and will be a full ceremony.
We will provide more information once it becomes available, but for now we hope you will save the date. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus.
Yours Cordially,
Laurie Patton
President
