Dear Students,

We’re at three weeks away from the end of the spring semester and counting. Today’s DOS update will feature Campus Status webpage updates, information on obtaining second doses of COVID-19 vaccines, Nocturne, the Stressbusters calendar, and end of semester Student Government Association (SGA) buses.

Campus Status Updates

The following changes to the Campus Status webpage take effect immediately:

  • Students may use any dining hall rather than the one that was assigned to them earlier in the semester.

  • In-person employment in town is permitted for fully vaccinated students who have uploaded proof of vaccination to their student health portal. Email DOS@middlebury.edu to inform us of your in-town employment.

  • Outdoor dining and takeout are permitted at restaurants in town; indoor dining is not permitted at this time.

Second Vaccine Doses Available

Did you know that even if you received your first dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines elsewhere, you may be able to obtain your second dose in Vermont? Call 855-722-7878 or visit the Vermont Department of Health vaccination appointment page for details or to make an appointment. You also may sign up for a second dose at Kinney DrugsCVS, or Walgreens. There will be an additional 30 doses of Pfizer vaccine available at the athletics center this afternoon from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and walk ins are OK.

Nocturne is Saturday

Nocturne, now in its fourth(ish) year, is an immersive, nightlong celebration of student art. On May 8, when night falls, art will take over. Dance, film, painting, music, comedy, food, fashion, pottery, poetry, and that out-there project you’ve always wanted to make happen will come together on Middlebury’s campus. Check Presence for more details.

Stressbusters!

The Stressbusters calendar is now live with a combination of in-person and remote events meant to help you take a break and encourage calm and connection. Put a few of these events on your calendar as we near the end of the semester as a reminder to take care of yourself. Read the full calendar at go/stressbusters

SGA End-of-Semester Buses

The SGA is once again offering bus service to assist students in departing campus at the end of the semester. Buses are available to Ridgewood/Penn Station/White Plains, Hooksett/South Station/Logan International Airport, and Burlington International Airport. Early bird pricing applies now through 11 a.m. May 14. Tickets are available through the College Box Office. Please direct questions to boxoffice@middlebury.edu.

COVID-19 Testing

Given case counts on campus and diminishing local prevalence of COVID-19, we anticipate that we will continue testing each student every other week. Watch for emails from COVIDtesting@middlebury.edu about what week and day you’re scheduled to come to testing. You should also monitor the Testing Schedule webpage for any changes due to evolving conditions. Please remember that attendance at testing is mandatory, and any unexcused absences will be considered COVID-19 conduct violations
