Spring 2021, Students

Dear Students Studying Remotely or Taking Leave this Spring,

I hope this finds you well. Please note that this message applies only if you will be living in Vermont for the spring 21 semester. If you will not be living in Vermont, you may disregard it.

If you will be living in Vermont during the spring term, please fill out this required form by Monday, February 15. It will collect your Vermont address, your anticipated date of arrival in the state, and the names of your housemates if applicable. It will also provide an opportunity for you to read the health pledge for fully remote learners and students on leave and living in Vermont and affirm your agreement to abide by it.

Other important details

  • If you are living with students enrolled in in-person classes for the spring term you are required to abide by the same health and safety expectations as they are regarding arrival quarantine and group gathering restrictions. Please review them on the College’s Spring 21 Campus Guide
  • If not living with students enrolled in an in-person class, you are required to abide by Vermont’s arrival policies
  • Vermont offers several testing locations throughout the state for you to utilize for your arrival in Vermont.
  • To protect the health and safety of the campus community, please do not come to campus during the spring term.

Finally, I encourage you to stay engaged with the Assistant Director of the Office of Community Standards Elaine Orozco Hammond. She is your best point of contact for questions or concerns. Elaine will add you to her regular communications with off-campus students.

We appreciate your partnership in helping to keep the Middlebury campus and surrounding community safe and healthy. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Elaine with any questions.

Warm regards,

Derek Doucet

Dean of Students
