Spring 2021

The following message was sent to applicants to the Middlebury School of the Environment.

Dear students,

I want to thank you all for your patience and for your understanding throughout this year of uncertainty. Although you already know that our program will not be able to operate in China this year, I’m writing with the news that we have decided not to pursue remote coursework from the Middlebury School of the Environment at this time. I know this will come as an additional disappointment to those of you who expressed interest.

We are looking hopefully toward the future and will soon begin planning for the summer 2022 session. If you are considering studying abroad next summer, we would love to have you with us. We will be withdrawing your application now, but if you would like to reinstate your application next year, we will move your materials over and save you some time. I’ll be back in touch when the new application cycle begins in the fall, at which point you can let me know if you’d like to stay in the applicant pool. If you already know that you do not want to apply for the 2022 session and if you have submitted an application fee, please let me know so we can process your refund.

I am very sorry that your study abroad plans have had to change, for many of you a second or even a third time. If there is anything I can do to be of assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Best wishes,

Catherine Pierattini
