    WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE that beginning April 15, 2022 the museum will be open to all visitors, no reservations required. Hours for the spring are listed below. In accordance with current Middlebury College guidelines, masks are optional but encouraged.

    For those who are not able to visit us in person, we invite you to connect with art remotely by browsing our collections database, enjoying our virtual engagement page, reading our blog, and interacting with us @middartmuseum via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

This annual event focuses on Professor Gamero de Coca’s passionate commitment to dignity and justice, and maps the intellectual possibilities she brought to bear on ‘misrecognized’ social and political concerns.

  • Middlebury African Music and Dance Ensemble & Middlebury Afropop Band - Joint Concert

    This concert opens with the Middlebury African Music and Dance Ensemble performing repertoire that showcases the stylistic and instrumental diversity of traditional East African musical cultures. In the second half of the concert, the Middlebury Afropop Band performs original compositions and arrangements of classic and contemporary popular songs from all over Africa. The band uses pop and rock instrumentation as well as styles that blend traditional African with Western and/or Afro-diasporic musical idioms.

  • Movie Screening: Advocate (2019)

    Lea Tsemel is a Jewish-Israeli lawyer and human rights activist who has dedicated most of her professional career to representing Palestinian defendants in the Israeli Court system. Join us for a screening of the movie Advocate (Dir. Jones & Bellaïche, 2019) that follows her in her struggles while illuminating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from an original and intimate perspective. The film won the 2021 Emmy for Best Documentary. In Hebrew and Arabic with English subtitles.
