    Stargazing at Mittelman Observatory

    Mittelman Observatory will again host stargazing open house nights this spring. These Observatory events are scheduled for Friday evenings, April 22 and May 13, from 9:00 PM until 10:30 PM, weather permitting.

    A variety of interesting stars, star clusters, and nebulae will be visible through the Observatory’s telescopes. The Observatory includes a 24-inch telescope in a dome and smaller telescopes on the roof deck.

    Due to COVID-19 policies and best practices, not all telescopes will be open and masks will be required of attendees.

    WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE that beginning April 15, 2022 the museum will be open to all visitors, no reservations required. Hours for the spring are listed below. In accordance with current Middlebury College guidelines, masks are optional but encouraged.

  • Middlebury College Community Chorus Concert

    The College Community Chorus performs their first concert in over two years! Under the theme of beauty of the Earth and its people, this uplifting and thoughtful program includes Johannes Brahms’ “How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place,” Sarah Quartel’s “There Alway Something Sings,” Craig Hella Johnson’s “Psalm of Life,” Ukrainian folk and sacred choral music, Canadian singer/songwriting Connie Kaldor’s “Wood River,” and Marques L.A. Garrett’s “Rise, Shine.” Featuring Tim Guiles, piano and Jeffrey Buettner and Ryan Opiela-Young, conductors.

  • Student-Athletes of Color (SAOC) Weekly Meeting

    Student-Athletes of Color (SAOC) provides a safe space for Student-Athletes—Varsity and Club—who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) to celebrate their identity, its intersectionality and embrace the challenges that come with these individual identities. SAOC will utilize open-forum conversations, mindful workshops, and restorative group practices to facilitate dialogue about racial diversity and inclusion within the Athletic Department and the broader Middlebury College community.
