J-Club highlights aspects of traditional, pop, artistic, linguistic, and literary Japanese culture and brings them to campus. We host food events, screenings, celebrations like Harumatsuri (the Spring Festival), and workshops on topics like taiko and tea ceremonies. We also sometimes attend events in the surrounding area. In this workshop, Dr. Fraser will share her experience of designing and implementing a large-scale Digital Humanities (DH) project, Song in the Sumatran Highlands, using the digital platform, Scalar, along with presenting an argument for ways in which DH might be evaluated and celebrated both within academic processes of tenure and promotion and within relevant scholarly societies.

Join Spiritual and Religious Life Dean Mark R. Orten for 20 minutes of quiet contemplation with reading and music for our times.
