Sunday Night Environmental Group (SNEG) is a non-hierarchical student org committed to climate and social justice activism. In the past we have pushed the college to divest from fossil fuels, passed anti-fossil fuel infrastructure resolutions in town, trained students on methods of non-violent direct action, occupied the statehouse, organized climate strikes, and so much more. We strive to ground our work in anti-racism, indigenous sovereignty, and community power.

Climate Smart Forestry with David MacFarlane
This is a talk on “human-forest mutualisms” exemplified by small-scale, forest conservation efforts in Mexico’s Yucatán. These efforts link conservation of globally-important forest ecosystems with production of natural, non-timber, forest products (vanilla and honey) that can help support local communities involved in conservation.

Hopkins-Nanjing Center graduate program information session
Lauren Szymanski, Director Hopkins-Nanjing Center, will visit campus to speak with Middlebury students about graduate programs in Nanjing. This year also marks the Hopkins-Nanjing Center’s 40th anniversary, and starting in Fall 2026 they’re excited to launch new program options in English at the HNC for students without advanced Chinese.
