HB Shabbat Celebration
Join other students to welcome to Jewish day of rest with a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by students. While much of the prayer will be in Hebrew, this space is exempt from the language pledge and there may be some English. The usual location for this service is in the Jewish Center in the Freeman International Center (FIC), but we may use an alternative location if the temperature in the Jewish Center is too hot. The History of Tenryumura - screening and reception
The History of Tenryumura: A documentary on the World War II history of a small village in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture, Japan and how one community reckons with a significant, tragic, and painful segment of its past. Stargazing at the Mittelman Observatory
The Mittelman Observatory is hosting a stargazing event on the MBH roof deck from 9:30 - 11:30pm on Wednesday, July 17th. This event is open to the public. For safety reasons, attendance is limited and registration is required. Please register for only one 40-minute stargazing time slot using this link. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The event is free for all attendees. Duo Ondine; Four-hands Piano Duet
Duo Ondine is a French-Italian four-hands piano duet born in Geneva, Switzerland in 2014. Ten years later, its refined and virtuosic programs and highly sensitive playing continue to delight international audiences. Specializing in French and Slavic repertoires, Juliette Aridon-Kociolek and Clémentine Dubost present programs including Debussy, Ravel, Dukas, Saint-Saëns, Dvorak, Rachmaninov, Borodine, Moussorgsky, and Stravinsky, designing their concert programs around a specific theme or connecting thread. On Tour with Bread and Puppet: Reception and Discussion with Garrett MacLean and John Bell
During this discussion (moderated by MCMA Director Richard Saunders), Garrett MacLean ‘99 and John Bell ‘73 will discuss the special exhibition, “Apocalypse Road Show: On Tour with Bread and Puppet Theater.” Garrett MacLean is a professional photographer who traveled with Bread and Puppet Theater for more than three months during the summer of 2022. John Bell is a puppeteer and former member of the company. After the talk, stay and mingle over light refreshments and complimentary wine.
