  • Carol Rifelj Faculty Lecture Series: Amit Prakash, International and Global Studies

    Pierre Bolotte and the Colonial Origins of the Anti-Crime Brigade

    When we think of the police, we usually think of a local institution. However, this talk is about the global circulation of police power, tactics, and ideology. I will focus on the life of a mostly forgotten French civil servant who spent his career abroad in the French empire before bringing his expertise back home to the suburbs of Paris.

  • Writing Black Italy: Feminist Black Studies in the Italian Context

    Barbara Ofosu-Somuah ‘13, both a Watson and a Fulbright recipient, is a published and recognized translator from Italian, an activist, and currently a PhD student at Duke University. Her talk will discuss the work of current Black Italian authors and the role of translation

    INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED Ballet with Barbara Doyle-Wilch

    Classical Ballet technique in traditional ballet class structure. No pointe shoes, please. Each session is open to a maximum of 20 participants. PE credit is available once 8 classes have been attended.

    Previous dance experience in any form is recommended.
