  • Story Circles 2021-2022: Affiliation and Affinity

    Story Circles are sponsored by Middlebury’s Anti-Racist Task Force. Story Circles are facilitated by Christal Brown, Anti-Racist Task Force Director and Alexander Twilight Artist in Residence. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the story circles to listen and share. As Middlebury College builds an authentic community that functions on the principles of anti-racism, it is important to acknowledge our collective history as well as our personal stories. Stories are limited to 3 minutes and offered in generosity. No advanced preparation is necessary.

  • Biology Seminar Series- Dr. Kaela Singleton, Emory University

    As a graduate student, Dr. Singleton defined the role of Sox11, a prominent transcription factor in mammalian and non-mammalian neural development, using RNA-sequencing and protein mapping both in vivo and in vitro. Her postdoctoral research addresses the molecular and cellular events disrupted in Menkes disease, a progressive form of childhood neurodegeneration that is triggered by dysregulation of copper.   • Dr. Lauren Pincus: Examining Interactions of Inorganic Contaminants with Polymers Using Synchrotron-Based Spectroscopy

    Dr. Lauren Pincus, PhD. is an NSF Earth Sciences Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University where she uses her knowledge in environmental sciences, chemistry and geosciences to investigate complex environmental problems.
    The Middlebury College alum will give a talk on Examining Interactions of Inorganic Contaminants with Polymers Using Synchrotron-Based Spectroscopy on October 15th in McCardell Bicentennial Hall.

  • Free-Heelers Fall Snowbowl Hike

    We, the middlebury Free Heelers will gather at the snowbowl at 3pm on Saturday October 16th to hike up and back down the bowl. We are going to enjoy the fresh air and fall leaves and snacks! We will plan on leaving ADK at around 2:30 to head up and will have enough cars for evreyone who wants to come!

  • Hirschfield International Film Series: Flee

    FLEE tells the story of Amin Nawabi as he grapples with a painful secret he has kept hidden for 20 years, one that threatens to derail the life he has built for himself and his soon to be husband. Recounted mostly through animation to director Jonas Poher Rasmussen, he tells for the first time the story of his extraordinary journey as a child refugee from Afghanistan. In Danish, English, Dari, Russian, and Swedish with English subtitles. (1 hour 30 minutes). Free. A Hirschfield International Film Series event.
