    Join Spiritual and Religious Life Dean Mark R. Orten for a half-hour of quiet contemplation with reading and music for our times. Intentional silence and guided meditation will be interspersed with music and readings from secular worldviews and sacred traditions to open our awareness and to find strength and perspective for living during pandemical, political, racial, ecological and other upheavals. Until gatherings can be held live, connect each Wednesday by Zoom. All are welcome.

  • Anti-Racism Taskforce Story Circle: Voice

    As we move toward our goal of building an authentic community that functions on the principals of anti-racism, it is important to acknowledge our collective history as well as our personal stories. Story circles will be facilitated by Christal Brown, Associate Professor of Dance, who will explain the storytelling process at the beginning of each session. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the story circles, whether or not they choose to tell a story.   • Together While Apart: A Support Group Space for Students in Q/I

    This support group space is open to all Middlebury in-person and remote students who are in quarantine or isolation. The focus of this support group is connecting with one another, sharing your experiences, and together identifying ways to cope during a time that can feel isolating and uncertain. This support group space is a weekly, mostly drop-in group (students still need to “sign up” by reaching out to group counselor to request zoom link) offered through the Spring 2021 semester.

  • Hirschfield International Film Series: Our Right to Gaze: Black Film Identities

    In this collection of six shorts, filmmakers gaze at themselves and their world, attempting to make sense of what they see reflected back. From gripping drama to heart-warming comedy, Our Right to Gaze: Black Film Identities features timely stories from Black artists that take us outside of the ordinary. (1 hour 22 minutes).

    Following the screening, please join us on Zoom at 8pm for a Q&A with Directors Antu Yacob and Zora Bikangaga and Curator Curtis Caesar John. A Hirschfield International Film Series event. Free.
