Join Dr. Kelly Hogan and Dr. Viji Sathy, authors of Inclusive Teaching Strategies for Promoting Equity in the College Classroom, for this active workshop on inclusive teaching. The session will highlight the need for high course structure and model techniques designed to elicit equity in the classroom.

Drop-in Korean Drumming

Drop-in to learn to play the traditional Korean percussion genre samulnori. Samulnori blends traditional Korean rhythms into dynamic pieces using four Korean percussion instruments: janggu (hourglass drum), buk (barrel drum), jing (large gong), and ggwaenggwari (small gong). Participants will start by learning technique and basic rhythms and progress to more complex rhythms and sequences. No experience needed!

This event serves as a celebration and showcase of Peyton Mader’s (‘24) thesis work with the German Department, exploring the world of German songwriting.
