The Writing and Rhetoric Program is hosting three lunch conversations about teaching writing this fall. You are welcome to join us whether you’re teaching a writing intensive class this semester or not. All lunches are on us! Simply charge them to WRPR at the Grille or Crossroads. We realize that due to teaching schedules, you may need to arrive late or leave early.
In this lunch workshop we will discuss scaffolding strategies for writing projects, focusing on how to go from the concept of an assignment to the final product students turn in. We will especially focus on ways to keep students up to date with specific writing projects and how dedicating a few minutes of class time to your writing assignment each day creates a “clock” for students. Please bring in a sample assignment or come with questions about your own writing assignments. Facilitated by James Chase Sanchez, Associate Professor of Writing and Rhetoric
