Eros/Power: Love in the Spirit of Inquiry. Transforming how Women and Men Relate

Renowned Action Researcher Hilary Bradbury will do a reading and facilitate a conversation about her new book, “Eros/Power: Love in the Spirit of Inquiry.” The book is a manifesto calling each of us to the great task of moving beyond the centuries’ old paradigm of unilateral power exercised mostly by and for men without succumbing to the cheap pleasures of bashing the male beneficiaries of that power imbalance.

DPP Improvisation Workshop

A fun introductory workshop for DPP students to build skills in spontaneity, cooperation, embracing ambiguity, and being present in the moment! The tactic is to focus on play and team-building with a deliberate connection to the application of these tools in the field of development. All levels of experience welcome. Any questions? Central Intelligence Agency Open Source Center (OSC) Events: Simulation

Representatives from the CIA’s Open Source Center invite you to take part in a simulation of open source intelligence analysis. Students will be posed real-world problems related to nonproliferation, counterterrorism, and global issues and asked to find and analyze open source information. Students will have the opportunity to use their research skills, linguistic abilities, and knowledge gained from their course of study.

Come listen to two MIIS alumni speak about their professional experiences in the CIA, Homeland Security, and their own organization - Operation Underground Railroad - to learn about career paths within the US Government and their organization. They both currently work towards ending modern day slavery and participate in rescue operations around the world.
