Join SPECS and Chellis for a body mapping workshop to explore where we hold and process emotions and experiences (joy, anxiety, stress, etc.) and how to move through them with art and mindfulness. This is an action-step event following It Happens Here.

Join the Feminist Resource Center and the organizers of Trans-VT for an afternoon learning about their zine and making your own! Zines are an amazing political resource and form of resistance. Join us for a queer, fun time. Snacks, drinks, and art supplies provided.

On the second day of the symposium, Mexican director Michelle Garza Cervera will answer questions (in English) about her acclaimed debut film Huesera: The Bone Woman (2022). This will be followed by a conversation in Spanish between Michelle and Rita Segato, offering a broader dialogue on gender-based abuse and violence against women in Latin America. The conversation between Michelle and Rita will be translated into English for the audience.
Cookies and drinks will be provided.

The symposium will kickoff with a keynote presentation by Argentine anthropologist Rita Segato, followed by an open discussion with students, faculty, and community members. Hors d’oeuvres will be provided in Sunderland Lobby beginning at 4:00 PM.
Dana Auditorium (Sunderland Language Center)
The long running political theatre company, Bread and Puppet, based in Northern Vermont, will bring their new spring show to Middlebury! Join us for this wildly popular, globally recognized troupe of artists and storytellers. You can read more about their spring tour and The End of the World Never Minding Show, on their website. The one hour show will be followed by a half hour talkback, and Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread and sell their “Cheap Art”.

It Happens Here (IHH) is an annual anti-sexual violence tradition founded in 2012. The event aims to honor survivors by promoting awareness, solidarity, and healing through the sharing of stories.
