CSWG Speaker Series - Current Issues in the Debates over Encryption and Government Hacking

Sponsored by:
MIIS- Student Affairs
The rise of ubiquitous encryption helps protect privacy, economic, and national security interests. At the same time, encryption presents a challenge to the investigatory capabilities of law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Relatedly, U.S. law enforcement undertakes “lawful hacking” operations to investigate criminal suspects. These measures are controversial, in part because of their potential for extraterritorial impact on machines outside American law enforcement’s jurisdiction.

Sponsored by:
MIIS- Student Affairs
Learning to manage difficult people is critical for personal and professional success. However, in order to effectively deal with a difficult person, we must understand, our own personal communication style, which influences how we perceive and respond to different personality types. Participation in this workshop will help deepen participants’ self awareness and empathy in interactions with difficult classmates, colleagues, coworkers, clients, managers and family members, and teach techniques for avoiding potential and unnecessary conflict.
