The Financial Crime Management Club will go over what it means to be a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), what the test consists of, and what resources MIIS has to offer. It’s a great opportunity for all those interested in the Financial Crime Management specialization, if you’d like to learn more about preparing for the exam, or if you’re just curious about the test & certification.

The MIIS Outdoors and Aquatics Clubs are hosting a screening of No Man’s Land Film Festival on Friday, December 3, 2021. This is a free event for MIIS students, faculty, and staff.

MIIS students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us at Irvine Auditorium to watch the film in person! This is a cross-club Halloween costume party, co-hosted by MIIS Fitness and MIIS Mic Karaoke & Public Speaking Club. This event will take place in Holland Center between 6:30pm-8:30pm Sunday 10/31. This is a casual and festive social gathering with live Karaoke and Ping-Pong playing on the side to liven things up! We will also have a photo booth and photographers onsite to help you capture the precious moments. In the end, the winner of the best costume contest will be announced from the results that participants cast anonymously! Refreshments will be provided.

Welcome to the first gathering of MIISMeet! Come meet all the folks you never got the chance to get to know outside the classroom for drinks at the Dust Bowl Brewery, Friday November 5th, at 5:00 PM. In addition to having a social hour, we’ll be talking a bit about our plans for the club moving forward.

Join QAAAM for our first Queer Film Friday event this semester! Each month we get together to watch an LGBTQ+ movie and have a discussion. This month, we will be watching the Kenyan movie Rafiki (available on Kanopy) over Zoom and talking about it afterwards.

Open to all MIIS Peace Corps Club members and interested members. Welcome to Peace Corps volunteers, returned or would like to be one in the future.
This meeting will serve an official welcome to Peace Corps club, learning about leadership and club members, events planned, possible ways to help our Peace Corps countries or sites, and other ways to help “promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans” (Peace Corps Third Goal).

On Monday, November 8th, 2021 from 6:00-7:00 PM (PT) join us in the McGowan Room 102 for a Red Cross Emergency Preparedness presentation by trained experts Aileen Bloomdal and Ethan Ticehurst. Come learn basic preparedness information including how to make or build a preparedness kit, make an emergency plan, and learn what to do before, during and after disasters of all kinds, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

At Empower’s first meeting we will be solidifying our goals and events for the year. Ideas or requests for speakers or topics are welcomed! Opportunities for joining the Planning Committee are available as well!
