Sickness and Healing in Song

Sponsored by:
Music
In his senior voice recital, Jack DesBois ‘15 explores the ways in which illness and health—essentials of the human condition—have shaped the classical, folk, and musical theatre song traditions. DesBois shares skilled and thoughtful interpretations of works by Britten, Schubert, Sting, and others, in collaboration with pianist Cynthia Huard and a talented group of student musicians. Highlights of the program include songs from DesBois’ work-in-progress new musical, Invalid, about a young woman’s struggle to come to terms with the reality of her father’s chronic illness.
