Alumni Engagement

Head up to Bread Loaf for a special evening including a reception, dinner, class photo, and a memorial tribute to remember our departed classmates.  Guests may drive, carpool, or ride the bus. Buses depart from Lot C behind New Battell at 5:30 pm. (A bus will also stop at the President’s house at 5:35 pm to pick up guests attending the Donor & Volunteer Appreciation Reception.)

Survey Says! How well did you know your classmates? Did you know their tastes, their behaviors, and what generally made them tick? There’s only one way to find out, even if it’s 50 years later. Come join this spirited game of Fiftieth Feud. 

Upon arrival, please check in with College staff in the first floor lounge in New Battell to get your name tag, housing assignments, and more!

Mingle and celebrate the artistic output of our 1976 classmates! A variety of artwork from professionals and amateurs alike will be on display. 

After dinner, enjoy live music by Magnetic Horse, dancing, and conversation in the Bread Loaf Barn.

Please join us as we gather to honor our lost classmates from 1981 at our class tree, on the north side of Painter Hall. Rain location: Chateau Grand Salon.

Set in Vermont and filmed over six years, Traces of Time follows the final chapter in the life of filmmaker Sim Hutner’s mother, Frankie Hutner, class of 1940, with striking intimacy and restraint. The film won the Shouldice Family Prize for Best Vermont-Made Film at the 2025 Middlebury new Filmmakers Festival.

• All-Class Golf Scramble: Register online by May 21 at go.middlebury.edu/scramble. You can make a 1986 foursome or the golf course will place you with a group. See more details in the separate golf scramble event.

• Chipman Hill Hike - meet Susan Ballard and Jen Forelli at the trailhead at 504 Washington Street for a 2.2-mile scenic, wooded hike. The hike should take about 1.5 hours.
