Traces of Time screening and Q&A with Filmmaker Sim Hutner ’81

Set in Vermont and filmed over six years, Traces of Time follows the final chapter in the life of filmmaker Sim Hutner’s mother, Frankie Hutner, class of 1940, with striking intimacy and restraint. The film won the Shouldice Family Prize for Best Vermont-Made Film at the 2025 Middlebury new Filmmakers Festival.

• All-Class Golf Scramble: Register online by May 21 at go.middlebury.edu/scramble. You can make a 1986 foursome or the golf course will place you with a group. See more details in the separate golf scramble event.

• Chipman Hill Hike - meet Susan Ballard and Jen Forelli at the trailhead at 504 Washington Street for a 2.2-mile scenic, wooded hike. The hike should take about 1.5 hours.

25th Reunion Hike -- New Location: Silver Lake

The 25th Reunion hike has been changed to Silver Lake instead of Snake Mountain, which is currently closed due to peregrine nesting. The Silver Lake trail is a moderate 3.2 mile hike past the Falls of Lana. Sign up in the 25th class lounge in Prescott House, and meet at 9:00 am in the Ridgeline parking lot to board the bus and depart.

Join your 2001 classmates for a spirited 9 or 18 holes of golf at the beautiful Ralph Myhre Golf Course! Complimentary tee times available from 8:30–9:30 AM. Lunch will be provided at the Tavern on the Tee. Register online by May 21 at go.middlebury.edu/25thgolf. Carts available day-of: $25 for 18 holes / $16 for 9 holes (per person, at check-in). You do not need a full group to register. If you have less than a foursome, the golf course will do their best to group you with other players.
