Information Session: VT EPSCoR CWDD

The VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity works to cultivate and prepare students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Through integrating students and teachers into active research we inspire students to pursue STEM careers. The CWDD helps connect interested students in social science and STEM areas with faculty researchers throughout Vermont at multiple institutions.

Information Session: Urban Teachers

The mission of Urban Teachers is to prepare highly effective teachers who significantly accelerate student achievement in the nations highest-need schools. We will accomplish this by recruiting outstanding candidates, equipping them with state of the art training, and linking their certification to their students performance outcomes. Over time, these teachers will be among the most expert and results-oriented in the nation, assuming leadership roles and making the public case for better teacher preparation and educator accountability.

GET A JUMP START ON YOUR CAREER WITH THE TUCK BUSINESS BRIDGE PROGRAM! The Bridge Program is an intense four-week summer experience located at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. This total immersion program is designed to give top liberal arts and science undergrads practical, marketable business skills – particularly relevant in today’s job market. Bridge topics range from managerial economics to marketing, strategy, finance and accounting, and are taught by the same faculty who have made the Tuck School one of the top business schools in the world.

Come hear from a Diplomat in Residence based in the Boston area about internship, job and fellowship opportunities. Jon Danilowicz is really interested in Midd students, and actually knows Prof Jeff Lunstead, our own Diplomat in Residence on campus. Jon has served most recently in Peshawar, Pakistan and also Dhaka, Bangladesh; Islamabad, Pakistan; Panama City, Panama; Maputo, Mozambique; Harare, Zimbabwe and Washington, DC.

This session is open to ALL students, ALL majors.

A presentation about Simply Smiles, a non-profit organization that works to build bright futures for impoverished children, their families, and their communities on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. Samantha Steinmetz, Simply Smiles Volunteer Coordinator, will present about the dignity-first approach to charity, the organization’s work with the Native community, and summer volunteer and internship opportunities on the Reservation.
