A Field Guide for Religion Majors” brings back Religion alumni, representing a diverse array of careers, who share their paths and professional lives with students and demonstrate what possibilities exist for current Religion majors. Religion prepares students to succeed in a vast array of interesting and rewarding industries, and the Field Guide can help students think broadly about where their study in might take them.

Three of the Psychology alumni panelists from Thursday evening’s “A Field Guide for Psychology Majors” will be available for informal one-on-one chats over coffee and donuts with students about their path from Middlebury to where they are today, how they have applied what they learned at Middlebury to help them build their careers, and how Psychology students might pursue a similar path. A great opportunity for unfinished conversations, for those who missed the Tuesday evening panel, or just to network. Drop by anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 AM and bring your questions.

Don’t miss our Field Guide for Music Majors! Take this opportunity to hear how music alumni have applied their major and learning in a diverse array of careers. Alumni will be on campus to share their paths and professional lives with students in order to help them think broadly about music, and to demonstrate what possibilities exist for current music majors.

The History alumni panelists from Wednesday evening’s “A Field Guide for History Majors” will be available for informal one-on-one chats over coffee and donuts with students about their path from Middlebury to where they are today, how they have applied what they learned at Middlebury to help them build their careers, and how History students might pursue a similar path. A great opportunity to finish conversations started the night before, for those who missed the Wednesday evening panel, or just to network.

The Stem Innovation Program is a creative and interdisciplinary program designed to challenge students to formulate and implement a solution to a scientific or technological problem. Each year, a team of students from a variety of departments and disciplines in science and mathematics designs and implements a technological solution to an important real-world problem. Their goal is to develop a deliverable product in 10 weeks through technological innovation, collaboration, and iteration.

Following a panel discussion with students who spent their summer in a social impact internship, there will be a unique opportunity for students to network with parents who have worked to advance the common good—planned or through happenstance—whether through careers in the public, nonprofit, business, or environmental sectors, serving on boards, or volunteering.

The Center for Careers & Internships and the Student Investment Committee are pleased to host a panel of parent professionals to discuss careers in finance for liberal arts majors and the power of the Middlebury alumni/parent networks. Students as well as parents who currently work in the field or who are curious about careers in finance for their Middlebury students are encouraged to attend.
