This Middlebury tradition, led by President Patton, symbolizes the beginning of the incoming class’s Middlebury academic journey. 

All new students are encouraged to attend.

On Saturday morning, President Laurie L. Patton will address the members of the senior class and their guests in Mead Memorial Chapel, and the traditional Gamaliel Painter’s cane will be bestowed.
