Learn how to build a website using WordPress! We’ll go through how to create and customize your site or portfolio, how to choose a theme and design the look of your site or portfolio, and more. This workshop was designed with TLM students in mind, but anyone who wants to learn how to use WordPress is welcome to attend.

The DLC is exploring the potential of virtual reality (VR) technologies for teaching and learning this term. Join us for an introducion to our HTC Vive VR equipment and a prototyping VR session with various mobile apps to explore VR content and create 360 degree images and videos with your mobile device and Google cardboard viewers. Open to MIIS faculty, staff, and students.

In preparation for J Term and Spring semester classes, we’re offering the next round of facilitated Canvas training. While there are several self-paced resources at your disposal, these workshops give you a step-by-step tour of Canvas’ pedagogical features. Workshops will be based on the curriculum from this highly recommended training: go.miis.edu/canvascanvas. These workshops are designed for you to follow along in your own Canvas space, so you’ll want to establish your course pages or request a Canvas sandbox beforehand. Monday, March 20: Your Professional Online Presence Potential employers, future landlords, prospective partners, possible students. Who has Googled your name lately? Have you ever Googled your own name? This Spring Break workshop at the DLC will focus on how to improve that first impression people receive when they find you online. Have a fun and information-rich Spring Break!

The DLC is hosting a series of 1-hour brown bag lunches during Spring Break in the Design Space. All sessions are open to all faculty, staff, and students. Friday, March 24 at 11:00AM: Lego Serious Play Create a model of your ideal, present, or past life out of Legos, and share your story with others. It’s a fascinating way to learn about your classmates and colleagues - and yourself as well! Join us as we break out our “Serious Play” Lego sets for some Friday Fun! We will provide plenty of creative prompts for building and reflecting.
