Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the story circles, whether or not they choose to tell a story.

As we move toward our goal of building an authentic community that functions on the principals of anti-racism, it is important to acknowledge our collective history as well as our personal stories.

Recognizing the tension, anxiety, and fears that many of our students have about the upcoming election, this workshop will address the impact students might be feeling following the election, how that impact might affect classroom dynamics/engagement, and how faculty can acknowledge impact and/or create space for processing. This workshop will be led by Renee Wells, Director of Education for Equity and Inclusion, and moderated by Jim Ralph, CTLR director.

This is an information session for a teaching opportunity during winter term January 2020. Teach English in Nosara, Costa Rica. We send 4 students to teach English to children and adults at The Biblioteca David Kitson in Costa Rica. This 90-minute workshop will explore the ways power and privilege can manifest in interpersonal dynamics and how to increase students’ self-awareness of the way their behavior impacts others in order to promote greater equity, inclusion, access and full participation.
