  • Careers in the intelligence community using foreign language skills

    The Senior Language Authority of the Intelligence Community, who holds a master’s degree from the Middlebury College Spanish School, will provide an overview of the Community and emphasize the significant role that foreign language proficiency plays in its missions. Don Gentile will also delve into the diverse array of roles within the Community that demand foreign language skills, highlighting the expertise necessary for effective performance in these positions.

  • HB Shabbat Celebration

    Join other students to welcome to Jewish day of rest with a Kabbalat Shabbat service led by students. While much of the prayer will be in Hebrew, this space is exempt from the language pledge and there may be some English. The usual location for this service is in the Jewish Center in the Freeman International Center (FIC), but we may use an alternative location if the temperature in the Jewish Center is too hot.   • Stargazing at the Mittelman Observatory

    The Mittelman Observatory is hosting a stargazing event on the MBH roof deck from 9:30 - 11:30pm on Wednesday, July 31st. This event is open to the public. For safety reasons, attendance is limited and registration is required. Please register for only one 40-minute stargazing time slot using this link. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. The event is free for all attendees. Note that this event will only take place if the sky is expected to be mostly clear.

    Mark your calendars and get your tickets!  Come join the Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble for a staged reading of Richard Nelson’s “Two Shakespearean Actors,” based on the true story of two rival productions of Macbeth performing in New York City that resulted in a riot in 1849. Performances run Friday August 2 through Sunday August 4 at 7:30pm in the Little Theater on the Bread Loaf campus. Ticket access to the public opens on July 26th.   • Middlebury College Carillon Series: Sergei Gratchev, Instructor, Belgian Carillon School & Midd School of Russian

    Each year, musicians from around the world come to Middlebury to perform in the Middlebury Chapel’s bell tower, soaring high above the College campus. The melodic sounds of the carillon bells are a staple of summer life on the Middlebury College campus. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket! Free and open to the public.
