The Budget process consists of two primary cycles: the January Cycle, which takes place in the fall, and the July Cycle, which takes place in the spring.

January Cycle – Mid-Year Budget Cycle: Focuses on changes impacting the current fiscal year and is limited to personnel-related requests, including promotions, new positions, and job description updates.

July Cycle – Full Budget Cycle: Focuses on planning for the upcoming fiscal year and addresses all major components of the budget. This includes promotions, new positions, job description updates, market verifications, market-based grade adjustments, annual compensation increases, non-personnel budget requests, and capital expenditure requests.

Together, the two cycles provide an opportunity to address immediate personnel needs during the year while maintaining a comprehensive annual planning process for the following fiscal year.
