Students, Winter 2022

To-Do List for Students Returning for Winter Term

Booster Shot

  1. Get your booster shot prior to your arrival if you are eligible and upload your documentation to the student health portal. See the CDC guidelines on booster eligibility

  2. If you cannot get a booster before your arrival, get one when you arrive at one of the booster clinics the College is offering on Saturday and Sunday, January 8 and 9 (supply permitting).

    1. Bring your vaccination card so this information can be added.

    2. If the booster clinic is full, schedule a booster shot as soon as possible through the Department of Health or a local pharmacy. Watch for information about possible additional booster clinics in the coming weeks at the College.

  3. If you are not yet eligible to receive a booster shot, you must receive one and upload the required documentation to the student health portal no later than two weeks after you are eligible.

PCR Test

  1. Get a PCR test obtained no more than 3 days before your arrival and show proof of a negative PCR test when you arrive.

  2. If your PCR test results have not come back yet or you were not able to get a pre-arrival PCR test, you will enter room quarantine until you receive a negative Day 0 test result.

  3. If you have recovered from COVID-19 within the past 90 days and completed your isolation period before coming to campus, you are not required to get a pre-arrival test and will not be tested upon arrival. Please check in at the Student Affairs information table to ensure that your name is on the testing exemption list.

  4. Watch your @middlebury.edu email–up to 90 hours after testing–for a message with instructions on how to access test results. Check your junk folder if you don’t see it.

  5. You will also be required to be tested once each week for at least the first two weeks of the semester–if you have not had a documented COVID-19 infection within the past 90 days. Make appointmenthere. Asymptomatic and symptomatic testing is at Virtue Field House Monday-Thursday and Saturday. Symptomatic testing is available on Fridays through Health Services.

  6. If you tested positive less than 10 days before your scheduled arrival date, you must follow CDC and healthcare provider instructions, including completing a 10-day isolation, before proceeding to campus. You must contact Health Services (802-443-3290 or healthservices@middlebury.edu) to document your status. After speaking with Health Services, you may then request permission for a delayed arrival from your Student Life Dean which may be no earlier than Day 11 (Day 0 being the day you took the test that was positive).

Late Arrival

  1. If you are delayed in your arrival, follow the directions in the late arrival information in the “Late Arrivals, Travel Delays and Complications” section of our Arrival Details message. If you experience delays, you must fill out the Late Arrival Notification Form.

Masks, Quarantines, and Questions

  1. Continue to wear a mask indoors on campus. Also wear a mask outdoors where distance cannot be maintained. Masks in these settings are required.

  2. If you test positive for COVID-19 during Winter Term, be prepared–if you are able to safely do so–to return home or to another safe place to recover. You should also plan for alternatives that could include recovery in your room with roommates who have not yet tested positive for COVID-19.

  3. Send your general questions to COVIDInfo@middlebury.edu.

Campus Status Webpage

  1. Check the Campus Status webpage often. It is your go-to source for the most up to date information about all health and safety protocols in place.
