All individuals should follow guidance from their healthcare providers and seek emergency medical care if they experience any emergency warning signs of COVID-19. Following are instructions for those who have a known close contact exposure to the virus, and/or are symptomatic, or have tested positive for COVID-19.

Students and employees should report positive COVID-19 test results in accordance with the COVID-19 Testing and Reporting Instructions.

Individuals who test positive via an antigen, PCR or LAMP test are considered to be positive for COVID-19 and must follow the applicable instructions for students or employees who test positive. Students who need treatment should contact Health Services during business hours or should contact MiddTelehealth, if after hours. Employees should contact their healthcare provider.

Students who test positive will receive instructions on how to determine the location and required duration of their isolation period. Support for this process is available from Health Services and the Isolation and Quarantine Housing staff. Depending on the circumstances, isolation options may include a move to separate isolation housing, recovery in place, or isolation at home or at another location off campus. Students must follow all instructions from Health Services and isolation and quarantine staff, as well as the instructions for students who test positive for COVID-19, which include isolation requirements and instructions regarding departure from isolation or in-room recovery.

Employees who test positive and need further guidance should contact their healthcare provider. Those who don’t have a healthcare provider should call 211 to connect to care or contact the nearest federally qualified health center or one of Vermont’s Free & Referral Clinics.
