MiddSafe advocates are trained Middlebury students committed to providing a safe and confidential resource for students who may have experienced sexual misconduct, dating or domestic violence or misconduct, stalking, and/or other personal violations. They can provide free information and support as you consider your needs, and can help you to connect with campus-based and external resources. MiddSafe operates a 24-hour hotline when undergraduate classes are in session on the Middlebury campus, and offers limited hours in the summer months.

MiddSafe Online Advocate

In addition to the 24-hour hotline described above, you can access the MiddSafe Online Advocate, which is a tool for survivors and peers in need of support and information related to sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking. This confidential platform is designed to remove barriers individuals might face in calling a hotline or approaching advocates and staff in person. You can access the tool at go/onlineadvocate.

WomenSafe

Free anonymous or confidential 24-hour support, information, referrals, and advocacy services for all people across the gender spectrum who experience sexual violence, domestic or dating violence, or stalking. WomenSafe is local and provides crisis intervention, problem-solving assistance, safety planning, housing assistance, advocacy, and emotional support to survivors of physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse.

SafeSpace offers free and confidential services to LGBTQ survivors of all forms of abuse or violence.

National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN)

RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline, accessible 24/7 by phone and online (online.rainn.org). They also work closely with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers to offer confidential support services to survivors regardless of where they are in their recovery.



National Domestic Violence Hotline

Operating around the clock, seven days a week, confidential and free of cost, the National Domestic Violence Hotline provides lifesaving tools and immediate support to enable victims to find safety and live lives free of abuse. Callers to the Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) can expect highly trained, experienced advocates to offer compassionate support, crisis intervention information, and referral services in over 170 languages.
