Presidential Search Update, December 2024

Dear Middlebury Community,

As the fall term draws to a close, I’m writing to provide a brief update on Middlebury’s presidential search. 

I’m pleased to report that the search is progressing well and on schedule. Since we finalized the position profile in September, our search consultants have been engaged in the intensive recruitment effort to attract a deep and diverse pool for the search committee’s consideration. The committee has been actively reviewing candidates, and we’re incredibly pleased with the qualifications of those who have expressed interest in being Middlebury’s next leader. The strength of the pool is a testament to Middlebury’s reputation and place in higher education.  

The committee will be hard at work into the New Year continuing their reviews and discussions. I’d like to thank each committee member for the time they’ve invested and will continue to devote to this important process.
