Scott Center for Religious and Spiritual Life
The Scott Center fosters belonging, spiritual well-being, and interfaith understanding at Middlebury College. Through religious programming, chaplaincy support, student organization advising, and opportunities for reflection and dialogue, the Center helps students explore meaning, values, and identity within a welcoming and inclusive community.
Scott Center-Sponsored Events
Throughout the 2025–26 academic year, the Scott Center sponsored or hosted a wide range of programs and services, including Winter Term workshops, Hillel events, Jummah prayers, interfaith retreats, meditation workshops, recreational gatherings, and ongoing chaplaincy support.
Chaplaincy and Student Support
One-on-one chaplaincy support for students of all religious faiths is a core component of the Scott Center’s work.
Religious and Spiritual Spaces
Scott Center staff manage a number of campus spaces for use by students, faculty and staff for religious, spiritual, ceremonial and mindfulness purposes. Examples include Hathaway House, the Jewish and Muslim Centers, and the Chapel.
