Fellowship Opportunities for Non-US Citizens

Most competitive fellowships are restricted to US citizens: some may also be open to permanent residents.  A few are open to many or all citizenship types.

Grinnell College's Scholarships & Fellowships has helpful information on scholarships for international students including a list of over 100 opportunities. Students may also find opportunities listed at profellow.com .  Here is also a broad list compiled by the National Association of Fellowship Advisors:http://bit.ly/NonUSCitizenFellowships

Additionally, some universities do have funding for international students accepted into graduate study programs.

The following are fellowships Middlebury advises on that are not restricted to US citizens:

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship (Stanford University)

Rhodes Scholarship

Schwarzman Scholarship

Watson Fellowship

Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics

Yenching Academy Fellowship
