A fellowship is a highly competitive opportunity that can provide undergraduates and young alumni with funding for graduate education, postgraduate research and self-designed projects, or funds for undergraduate support and summer enrichment.

Barbara Ofosu-Somuah ’13: A Fulbright and Watson Fellowships Talk

Join Barbara Ofosu-Somuah ’13 and Dan Bateyko '16 for a Fulbright and Watson fellowships talk with Dean Lisa Gates.

Barbara, who has received both a Fulbright and Watson, studied psychology, sociology and Italian at Middlebury. During her Watson, she explored the role of hair in Black, Latina and multiracial cultures in several countries.During her Fulbright, she examined diversity and inclusion efforts in Italian schools.

Dan, who received a Watson, studied international and global studies (East Asia), Japanese and political science at Middlebury. During his Watson he traveled to several countries investigating barriers to internet freedom, such as trolls.

4/6: British Scholarship Nomination applications are due. Required if you seek nomination for the fall 2018 application cycle.

4/15: Preliminary Fulbright and Watson applications due. You can still apply for these in the Fall 2018 cycle even if you miss this deadline.
