Important - Parking Information for Second-year parking permit holders
Second-year parking permit holders,
To accommodate construction associated with the Solar Decathlon project, the four rows on the west side of the Ridgeline parking lot will be closed to student parking from Monday, March 25 until Saturday, August 31, 2013. Any vehicles remaining in this area after Sunday, March 24, 2013 are subject to being towed at the owner's expense.
Second-year permit holders can find alternative parking in the P permit sections of the MCFA lot or the Track lot. If you are leaving a vehicle on campus over spring recess, please be sure that it has been removed from this area prior to your departure. Parking information can be found at: http://www.middlebury.edu/offices/health/publicsafety/parking/Student_Permits/secondyear.
During Spring Recess, the Middlebury Solar Decathlon Team will begin construction of its solar-powered home, known as InSite. The building site for this project is the western section of the Ridgeline parking lot. The College chose this site due to its proximity to power sources and the Solar Decathlon Headquarters at Harris Farmhouse. The site is also paved, which will help facilitate supply deliveries and improve the ability to move the house when it is transported to Irvine, California early next fall for the Solar Decathlon competition.
While these changes may inconvenience some students, the entire College community can take pride in the fact that Middlebury was selected as a finalist in this prestigious international competition.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lisa
